AHSOKA: Has Marrok's "Secret Identity" Been Revealed? New Theory May Reveal Who Is Under The Helmet

We're only two episodes into Ahsoka, but the Disney+ series is already generating fan theories, and Marrok is one of the biggest mysteries to us right now. However, this fan theory could reveal all...

Dave Filoni being at the helm of Ahsoka means a deep dive into Star Wars lore was an inevitability. The filmmaker already explored new sides of the Galaxy in Rebels and is now gearing up to take us to whole new Galaxies in this live-action Disney+ follow-up.

One of the Ahsoka's biggest mysteries right now is Marrok's identity. Despite looking eerily similar to a Sith Inquisitor, it feels like there's more to the mysterious villain than meets the eye (the fact his armour is rusted is another intriguing detail we didn't catch prior to Tuesday's premiere).

As we first reported on SFFGazette.com, there's now a chance the mystery has been solved.

In the Reddit post below, it's explained that "Marrok" is a name that derives from the tales of King Arthur, with Marrok a knight who was turned into a werewolf by a witch with ties to Morgan le Fay. Loth-wolves have already proven to be a huge part of Filoni's Star Wars stories, specifically in regard to Ezra Bridger.

The theory goes on to suggest a Jedi (knight) was turned to the Dark Side (a werewolf) by Morgan Elsbeth, one of the Witches of Dathomir, who is in the midst of searching for Grand Admiral Thrawn. In other words, Ezra has become Morgan's slave, likely as a result of her magical abilities.

This suggests Ezra somehow found his way home, only to be taken by Morgan and corrupted...unless he fell to the Dark Side before then. If the theory is correct, it would obviously go a long way in clearing up how it is she's managed to figure out where the Purrgil took Thrawn all those years ago.

We can't discount the possibility of this being a misdirect, of course, but it’s a compelling theory that adds up on a number of levels. After all, if it’s just a random character beneath the helmet - or we never find out who Marrok is - fans are going to be majorly disappointed.

Perhaps Morgan has resurrected someone else? That might explain the decay on his armour, anyway. We'll see what happens, but the third episode of Ahsoka will premiere on Disney+ next Tuesday.
