The full trailer for Ahsoka that was released last week featured some incredible new footage from the upcoming The Mandalorian spin-off, with Star Wars Rebels fans particularly excited at the prospect of what really is shaping up to be a live-action continuation of the beloved animated series.

Creator/showrunner Dave Filoni has previously assured viewers that they don't have to have seen the earlier animated series to enjoy Ahsoka, but Ashley Eckstein - who provided Tano's voice in those shows - highly recommended checking them out first during a recent interview with CinemaBlend.

"I actually recommend to everyone who is excited about the upcoming Ahsoka series, I highly recommend that you take the time to watch The Clone Wars, Rebels and even Tales of the Jedi. Because if you don’t, you’re going to miss out on crucial, crucial backstory that you really need to know to fully enjoy the Ahsoka series, which is so exciting."

The recent teaser included some awesome shots of the titular force-wielder (don't call her a Jedi!) in action, and this new banner that was shared on the show's official social media channels gives us another look at Anakin Skywalker's former apprentice with her dual lightsabers at the ready.

Check out the banner below, along with the new trailer.

Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

The series stars Rosario Dawson in the title role, with Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, with Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.

Kevin Kiner was announced as the series' composer.

Ahoska is written by executive producer Dave Filoni, alongside executive producers Favreau, Kennedy, Wilson, and Beck. Gilchrist is co-executive producer. The series’ directors include Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel and Rick Famuyiwa.

Sabine as Ashoka's padawan is sooooo [frick]ing weird just on the simple fact of Ashoka's ideology post Order 66.

@BlackStar25 - We don't know what happened since then. Order 66 was 30 years ago. And this is exactly the project meant to tell us where her mind is right now. I could absolutely see her find new trust in Jedi Order now that she has the ability to shape it together with Luke.

Still weird to think that these two character know each other now. XD

For anyone looking to catch up on the storyline, Disney+ has a collection of Clone Wars, Rebels, Mandalorian, and Tales of the Jedi episodes for that purpose.

After that latest trailer you may as well just call it Ahsoka: The Force is Female.

I was looking forward to this especially after her re-introduction in The Jedi episode of The Mandalorian Season 2.
But now I feel as if Kathleen Kennedy and her sniffer Dave Filoni are going to screw this one up too after what they did to The Book of Boba Feet and the Womandalorian Season 3.

PERSONALLY as a 55 year old OG STAR WARS fan, this new KK WOKE STAR WARS isn't for me, and there are MANY that feel the way I do so I choose not to view these projects. HOWEVER, I realize that it does appeal to other fans and I respect that so I'm NOT calling for these TV shows and upcoming movies not to be made because I don't like it. The PROBLEM is that when these SW projects WAY under perform in the ratings etc fans like me get called out by MANY pro WOKE SW for not supporting it. being labeled as Anti Feminist, Sexist etc. RESPECT goes both ways or not at all. I respect fans who ENJOY this New SW and you should do the same for fans who don't
