Star Wars Rebels put the spotlight on The Ghost's crew members, making them all fan-favourite characters in the progress. With the franchise now expanding courtesy of Disney+, they're all stepping back into the spotlight, albeit in live-action.
That's going to play out in Ahsoka next month, of course, and we've known for a while now that characters like Hera Syndulla, Sabine Wren, and Chopper will make their return alongside Ezra Bridger and the villainous Grand Admiral Thrawn. However, a new LEGO set (via SFFGazette.com) adds another name to the list.
While we don't know who will play him, this confirms that Jacen Syndulla is indeed set to appear in the Disney+ series. The son of Hera and fallen Jedi Kanan Jarrus, his involvement leads us to believe he'll be a key character here...and likely strong in the Force.
The child, first teased in Star Wars Rebels' series finale, albeit with green hair in his animated form, is shown piloting the Phantom II, the smaller ship that's transported by the Ghost (its predecessor was previously a favourite of Ezra's).
Also featured are a couple of characters who appear to have been newly created for Ahsoka, First Officer Hawkins and Lt. Beyta. We'd imagine this is the first of many LEGO sets based on the Disney+ series.
Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.
In addition to Rosario Dawson in the title role, the series stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.
Ahsoka was written by Dave Filoni, who executive produces alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Directors include Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa.
Ahsoka will launch exclusively on Disney+ on August 23.
