AHSOKA TV Spot And Featurette Continue Teasing Ahsoka Tano And Sabine Wren's Unexpected New Dynamic

The latest TV spot for Ahsoka once again suggests that Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren are now Master and Apprentice, while a featurette further explores Rosario Dawson's connection with the title character.

With just seven days to go before Ahsoka launches on Disney+, another new TV spot for the Star Wars Rebels follow-up has been released (via SFFGazette.com). New snippets of footage show Ahsoka Tano confirming that the only way to combat the new threat this Galaxy faces is with the combined power of a Master and Apprentice.

That Apprentice? It's none other than Sabine Wren.

We're still not 100% sure whether the Mandalorian is supposed to be Force-sensitive, though that appears to be the direction Ahsoka is heading in. It's an intriguing move and one we suspect is meant to give the title character the upper hand when facing Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati, the orange lightsaber-wielding baddies who may or may not be tied to the Sith but quite clearly serve Grand Admiral Thrawn.

We have to believe that Ahsoka's biggest secrets are being kept under wraps prior to next Wednesday's premiere, though it's only been in recent weeks the focus has shifted to the relationship between the former Jedi and her friend-turned-student.

You can take a look at this new Ahsoka TV spot, along with another featurette, in the players below.

Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

In addition to Rosario Dawson in the title role, the series stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.

Ahsoka was written by Dave Filoni, who executive produces alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Directors include Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa.

Ahsoka will launch exclusively on Disney+ on August 23 with a two-episode premiere.

Can't wait to see this series and how it sets up the Mando-verse film.

I wonder if that place where Baylan and Ahsoka are fighting is connected to the World Between Worlds concept. If Filoni reintroduces that from Rebels to live-action, it would open up a lot of interesting possibilities.

@bobevanz - D+ has a "essential Ahsoka" collection or something like that. If you've already watched those series before, it's a handy way to catch up with the relevant episodes. It's still A LOT (my wife dipped out about half-way through) but the Clone Wars episodes in particular hold up really well (except that flabby storyline with the mechanic sisters. That was a bummer.)
