LOGAN Star Dafne Keen Reveals New Details About Her "Bi-Species" Jedi In STAR WARS: THE ACOLYTE

Dafne Keen (Logan, His Dark Materials) has revealed some intriguing new details about the Jedi character she'll play in Leslye Headland's upcoming Disney+ Star Wars series, The Acolyte..

Dafne Keen (His Dark Materials) previously revealed that she's playing an alien (though isn't every Star Wars character technically an alien?) Jedi in Leslye Headland's (Russian Doll) upcoming Disney+ series, The Acolyte, during Star Wars Celebration last month, but the Logan actress has now shared some intriguing new details.

In the latest issue of Empire Magazine (via SFFGazette.com), Keen confirmed that her character, Jecki, is a "bi-species" human/alien hybrid, and offered a brief description of her appearance.

"David Bowie meets Star Wars: I have a little mullet, I have horns, it's cute."

Empire went on to note that Jecki will be the same species as Rystáll Sant, a human-Theelin member of the Max Rebo Band in Return of the Jedi (see below).

Specific plot details are still under wraps, but we do know that The Acolyte will explore a world of "shadowy secrets and emerging dark side powers against the backdrop of the High Republic era."

The show sounds quite a bit darker than its Disney+ predecessors, but Headland promises that it's not all doom and gloom.

"As a queer filmmaker, you're gonna see some camp. Inevitably! But I would say that tonally, our references are darker."

The Acolyte also stars Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Joonas Suotamo.

No official premiere date has been announced, but the show is expected to hit Disney+ at some point next year.

You can see Keen demonstrating her impressive lightsaber skills in the video below.

@Origame - I mean its already weird how robots like R2D2 and C3PO are supposed to be a living race with rights even though they were just machines in the past films?

Whats going to happen next, ChatGPT or AI is going to get human rights too lol

@GhostDog - they did mention human in rogue one, but it's disney so I don't count it.

But outside of that they just refer to them by the planet their from, such as padme being one of the naboo people.

Is this the only thing that Hollywood considers the most "relevant" nowadays? How basic and primitive the artform has become, all sex no substance, no true meaning, no destiny, unorganic, just a bunch a parameters being fulfilled to please nobody not even it's defenders who are just barely offering a non-welcoming approval.

Where are the stories that try to reflect on the seek of truth, courage, unity, family, friendship, struggle, self improvement. This was the thing I was looking forward the most in movies and comics, to inspire people to become more of what they can aspire. Now values, traits, character are being overridden by paperthin pronouns.

She's really grown. I hope we get to see her resume the X23 role qt some point.

@Slotherin - That's my hope for a Deadpool 3 stinger. Logan has one last rodeo, and then whatever multiversal portal is allowing folks to travel around spits out X-23 into the MCU at the very end. Or hell, at the beginning. Jackman owns Logan, there's no getting around it. Bring in X-23!

And you wonder why Disney shares have dropped 4.4% this quarter.
$1.7 billion in losses in the last two quarters
And their Disney+ has lost another 4 million subscribers
(300,000 of those in the U.S.)

The decline started when they started injecting identity politics into everything. People don’t want to be preached to.
And parents don’t want to have to worry about what programs their children may see on Disney+

Clearly that have learned nothing after to straight quarters of huge losses.

@DocSpock - They are simply pandering with all of they intersectional feminism, DEI and identity politics.
And some people are just too dumb or naive to not realize it.

And the results are always the same. Damage of their business and loss of revenue.

Love me a spicy chicken sandwich. Just had a great quick meal at Chic-Fil-A and saw no customer confusion about which bathroom to use.

Dafne Keen as a Zabrak would actually be pretty cool to see. About time we see some more aliens like Zabrak in bigger roles in the Star Wars universe.

That anyone would be upset about this is beyond ridiculous.

Honestly, I rather see her as Laura again now that she's the right age for X23.
