The first set photos from Star Wars: The Acolyte have found their way online (via SFFGazette.com), and they're well worth taking a closer look at! In them, we see Squid Game star Lee Jung-Jae, Dafne Keen, Dean-Charles Chapman, and a Wookie, all of whom appear to be Jedi Knights.

Jung-Jae is believed to be playing a Jedi Master, and certainly looks the part based on how he's dressed. Of course, with this story taking place during the High Republic Era, we really don't know what to expect, especially as reliable sources have previously indicated that the show actually revolves around characters who eventually fall to the Dark Side and join the Sith.

With the story taking place prior to The Phantom Menace, there are those who expect it to reveal the origin story of Darth Plagueis, the powerful Sith Master who would one day take Sheev Palpatine under his wing. While there's no one here who meets his description, we definitely expect The Acolyte to be more than just another story told about the Jedi.

You can see a handful of set photos in the Tweet below, but the full gallery can be found at Mail Online.

Star Wars: The Acolyte has been described as, "a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated."

The cast of the series includes Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Carrie-Ann Moss, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Charlie Barnett, and Dean-Charles Chapman.

The Acolyte will stream exclusively on Disney+, though a premiere date has yet to be revealed.

Take a look at the new set photos below.

Looking good so far. Really excited for this one based on the plot, especially the High Republic era setting and exploring Sith origins.

Hopefully its quality and tone is more similar to Andor and less similar to Boba Fett.

@Vigor - I still consider Star Wars as (space/science) fantasy as well. Doesn't get more magical than the force
