THE CLONE WARS: Scrapped Season 7 And 8 Plans Revealed By Cast (Including Details On Ahsoka Tano's Boyfriend)

New details about Lucasfilm's original plans for The Clone Wars have been revealed, including the fact Ahsoka Tano was getting a Han Solo-like boyfriend and George Lucas' hopes for over 300 episodes...

The Clone Wars ended way too soon, but thanks to Disney+, we did eventually get a seventh season and a proper conclusion to the story.

Dave Filoni had to condense many of the ideas planned for the animated series, with a number of episodes remaining unfinished and unlikely to ever see the light of day. However, having that extra time to work on The Clone Wars meant making changes to how the story was once going to play out.

Chief among them was swapping out Ahsoka Tano's boyfriend with the Martez sisters!

Talking at Emerald City Comic Con (via SFFGazette.com), Ahsoka Tano voice actress Ashley Eckstein revealed that, "I think they made everything that I recorded, because they did adjust it, but the episodes with Trace, and Rafa, and the Martez sisters, that was originally an arc with...Ahsoka had a boyfriend and his name was Nyx Okami."

"And so yeah, it was originally that arc, so we essentially just remade it, and they changed it to the Martez sisters, which I have to say, I was very glad they changed it to the Martez sisters, because Ahsoka didn’t have time for a boyfriend. I wasn’t super crazy about that."

Nyx has previously been described as being akin to Han Solo, while the hope had been for him to also be one of the Star Wars franchise's first Asian male leads. However, we'd agree with Eckstein that this change was ultimately for the best in terms of how Ahsoka's specific arc played out.

During the same event, actors Dee Bradley Baker and James Arnold Taylor also confirmed that The Clone Wars season 8 was much closer to becoming a reality than first thought.

Taylor mentioned that "there was a lot that was recorded," adding: "George Lucas originally said he wanted to do 300 episodes of 'The Clone Wars.'"

There's always a chance we could see at least some of these "lost" episodes of The Clone Wars on Disney+, though we're not banking on that. As it stands, the series got a perfect ending and Ahsoka's story will continue in live-action later this year.

With how 7 ended. 8 could only be dark and tragic

@Vigor - pretty sure the seige of mandalor was always the intended end.

Its the only season 7 arc that had no material left over from the previous production

There probably would have just been more arcs before it

That sisters arc was the worst arc in CW. I was looking forward to more order 66 on that season and they gave us that crap.

And good thing they didnt push through with the bf

I get why they did the sisters arc, would be weird if ahsoka showed up for the seige considering we hadnt seen her since she left the jedi but man would have rather gotten the Boba/cad bane arc

They still need to finish the rest of this. Ventress needs her ending shown in a visual medium and they need to show us Boba and Cad Bane’s relationship that they referenced in Book of Boba Fett.

I'm sure Disney will find a way to make Ahsoka a lesbian.

@TheSuperMex - It will always hurt that we never got to see an official, finished version of this.

But then again...sometimes Star Wars fans are amazing.

I do wish we had gotten to see the rest these planned episodes. Yes, some were combined for the final season, and some were saved for Bad Batch, but there are certainly some stones still left unturned. Perhaps they can be repurposed for Tales of the Jedi or something like that. The sisters arc though was pretty terrible.
