Star Wars Rebels fan-favorite Sabine Wren has been rumored to make the jump to live-action for the Ahsoka Disney+ series for a while, and yesterday, we finally got confirmation that Lucasfilm is searching for an actress to play the Mandalorian warrior.

Now, we may have an idea of who's in with a chance of landing the part.

Jordan Maison, who has been a solid source for Star Wars-related scoops in the past, took to Twitter to say he's heard that the search has been narrowed down to three front-runners of Asian/Southeast Asian heritage. When /Film's Adam Frazier chimed in with two of the names, Maison added the third.

They are: Lana Condor (X-Men: Apocalypse, To All The Boys), Tati Gabrielle (The 100, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), and model Havana Rose Liu, who has appeared in the likes of Mayday and Girls Will Be.

We'll obviously have to treat this as a rumor for the time being, but if these are indeed the front-runners, there's a decent chance one of them will end up joining Rosario Dawson in The Mandalorian spinoff.

In the closing moments of the Rebels series finale, Ahsoka and Sabine embarked on a mission to find Ezra Bridger after the young Jedi was seemingly sucked into a wormhole during his battle with Grand Admiral Thrawn. Though these events weren't mentioned specifically in Tano's episode of The Mandalorian, there were a few hints that she might be searching for answers during her confrontation with Magistrate Morgan Elsbeth.

Both Ezra and Thrawn have also been rumored to make their live-action debuts in Ahsoka, but we haven't had any solid updates on that front in a while.

I never thought of Tati Gabrielle, but I think I could see that.

@Repian - I don't know that I want to have to see it though. I want the casting to be spot on. Sometimes it works (Domino), sometimes I dunno (Starfire).

So then, they're looking for a Jessica Henwick type.

Wonder if Rosario gets any input?

As much as I want Jessica Henwick like everyone else, she may be too busy. She's about to become a huge deal after leading Matrix 4, and she's currently filming Knives Out 2.

Jessica Henwick was already in The Force Awakens as well. Granted, it wouldn’t be an issue. Just saying.

They seem a bit young unless it is set before The Mandalorian.

Hollywood is usually known for casting older actors to play younger roles, not the other way around.

@inkniron - To be fair there's really no inbetween with Asian genetics. Most women look 12 until they hit 60 and then it's instantly 120.

@inkniron - Sabine won’t be that old. I think she was 16/17 in Rebels so she’d be about 10 years older in this series in her mid to late 20s

@MrDandy - She's older than Ezra who is the same age as Luke. Luke should be on the cusp of 30, so...

@Reeds2Much - Might be why I've never had that Asian fetish a lot of white American males have.

My age range is 18-108, but north of 60 they need very large and enticing bank accounts and a heart condition.

@inkniron - Ezra is slightly younger than Luke, isn’t he? Last season takes place one year before New Hope, I thought. Ezra was 14 then and Luke 17. I think Sabine and Luke are about the same age

@MrDandy - Nope, Ezra was born the same day as the Empire, one day before Luke and Leia.

Wouldn't mind Condor in the role. She was great on Deadly Class.
