Deadpool actress and former MMA fighter Gina Carano has shared a black-and-white photo from the set of The Mandalorian Season 2 to announce that she's finished shooting her scenes as former Rebel Shock-Trooper Cara Dune.

Some have taken her Instagram post to mean that cameras have stopped rolling for the season altogether, which is also a possibility considering production was underway before the first season even aired.

Dune emerged as one of Dyn Jarren's (Pedro Pascal) most trusted allies towards the end of Season 1, and became very protective over The Child. We don't know what part she'll play in the continuing story, but it's assumed she'll once again have Mando's back as he fights to keep Baby Yoda out of Moff Gideon's (Giancarlo Esposito) clutches.

I LOVE this girl. She's equal parts lovely and badass. Also, this show was terrific!

Probably Gina Carano's best performance.

@Necropolitan - It was. I've been a Carano fan since American Gladiators, but it's just been a struggle to connect her presence and personality (which she has plenty of) to a character serving a role in a story. She just doesn't seem like she can sell badass gruff characters (she seems fairly bubbly as a person). Maybe she needs to be written more to her natural type? I dunno...

Just now realizing how similar her character looks to her Deadpool one.

I hope the runtime of these episodes increase. I really liked Season 1, but I do feel like they were being conservative in some areas. I'd be willing to sacrifice number of episodes if it meant the episodes themselves would be twice as long.

30-35 minutes an episode was a tragedy.
