The Mandalorian's first season on Disney+ received widespread critical acclaim, and it was a series fans struggled to find fault with. Of course, the quality of the show meant that when Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker came along, its flaws stood out much more than they otherwise might have.
This newly released "Honest Trailer" for the show can't help but make those Episode IX comparisons, but it's a mostly good-natured, tongue in cheek look at The Mandalorian.
It's definitely hard not to chuckle when this trailer points out that season two is likely about to throw away the show's standalone nature in preference of some serious world-building, while the line about Jon Favreau being a food truck enthusiast who saved the franchise in his "VR garage" is great.
In season two, the Mandalorian and the Child continue their journey, facing enemies and rallying allies as they make their way through a dangerous galaxy in the tumultuous era after the collapse of the Galactic Empire. The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers and Giancarlo Esposito, and the first three are highlighted here alongside The Child.
