Lucasfilm released a thrilling new trailer for The Mandalorian season 3 on Monday evening (check out our recap by clicking here) and that's now been followed by a gallery of hi-res stills from the Disney+ series (via SFFGazette.com).
Din Djarin and Grogu are shown aboard their upgraded Naboo Starfighter, while we also get to see the Mandalorians who look set to join Din when he attempts to retake Mandalore for his people. They certainly stand out from the crowd in that colourful armour, but those lightsabers are perhaps the most attention-grabbing shot here.
It appears we're getting another flashback to the events of Revenge of the Sith when the Jedi attempted to protect Grogu from Palpatine's Clone Troopers during Order 66. The question is, are those soldiers attempting to break through that door or could it be Anakin Skywalker, the former Jedi who led this attack after being named Darth Vader by Emperor Palpatine?
We also see Din's reunion with Greef Karga along with a Mandalorian helmet we're assuming remains from the massacre known as the Night of a Thousand Tears.
In season 3, the journeys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars Galaxy continue. Once a lone bounty hunter, Din Djarin has reunited with Grogu. Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history. The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together.
The series stars Pedro Pascal, Katee Sackhoff, Carl Weathers, Amy Sedaris, Emily Swallow, and Giancarlo Esposito.
It's also been confirmed that The Mandalorian's directing team will be comprised of Rick Famuyiwa, Rachel Morrison, Lee Isaac Chung, Carl Weathers, Peter Ramsey, and Bryce Dallas Howard, an all-star team we're sure will bring plenty of exciting ideas and visuals to this corner of a Galaxy Far, Far Away.
Jon Favreau is the showrunner/head writer and serves as an executive producer along with Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist and Carrie Beck are co-executive producers.
The Mandalorian season 3 premieres on Disney+ on March 1.
