THE MANDALORIAN Season 3 Trailer Sees Din Djarin Return To Mandalore And A RISE OF SKYWALKER Cameo

"You are a Mandalorian no more."

Those ominous words come from The Armorer in this first trailer for The Mandalorian season 3, and it's clear this next batch of episodes will move the story along in a big way now Din Djarin is no longer looking to return Grogu to the Jedi. The events of The Book of Boba Fett saw the bounty hunter stripped of his "Mandalorian" status, so his goal now is to presumably regain it.

Who knows if he even wants it, though it definitely appears as if we're set to follow him back to Mandalore.

As expected, Bo-Katan Kryze's mission to restore her home is clearly about to be put front and centre; whether Din will find an ally or enemy in her remains to be seen. It looks as if she may be trying to make him see things another way (rather than the way), likely because the Mandalorians who took him in as a child are perceived as extremists by others who once called Mandalore home.

Elsewhere in this sneak peek, Carl Weathers returns as Greef Karga, we get a first look at The Rise of Skywalker's Babu Frik, and even see a planet that might be Naboo.

Crucially, there's quite a bit of Grogu cuteness to be found here, and with these two together again, we're sure that the antics of "Baby Yoda" will remain one of the most enjoyable, and slightly less serious, aspects of the show.

No premiere date was announced at D23 for The Mandalorian's return (no great surprise when Lucasfilm didn't bring all that much to the event), but we know it's definitely returning to our screens sometime next year.

@marvel72 - yeah, I'd prefer Grogu would sit out for a season but OK. Hope this show keeps bringing more stuff to SW besides jedi and lightsabers.

There's nothing like building to an absolutely amazing season finale of Season 2 only to nullify it with two drop in episodes of Boba Fett and remove ALL importance of that incredibly well done and emotional finale by brining back Baby Yoda so quickly.

He'll always be a Mandolorian.

This is the way.

@2013venjix - he'll always be a Mandalorian, just not the one he thought he should be. There is another way.

I'd love a series exploring the political and traditional values of the Mandalorians.

Love me some conflict between mandalores, as well as exploring the politics and traditional values of them as a creed.

This thing looks beautiful so i can't wait.

This looks to have a more central plot than season 2 did. I’m still disappointed that they brought Grogu back so quickly. This season would have been better without him, but I guess merchandising wins over coherent story and character arcs.

@mountainman - same. Even if the wanted to have Grogu back this season, I think they should've taken those two Boba Fett episodes and start this season with.

It was a good trailer, but it doesn't really get me as excited as I wanted to be. Do look forward to how both Bo-Katan's and the Armourer's different perspectives on Mandalore culture are gonna influence Din

The current state of Star Wars media is just sad. All these subpar shows with the same generic sandy planet setting, mercenaries, bounty hunters, stormtroopers. I try to watch all the shows but they all feel the same, mediocre, uninspired.
