Star Wars fans have been eager for a look at some new footage from the third season of The Mandalorian ever since that brief teaser debuted a few months ago, and we now have confirmation that a full trailer is right around the corner.
According to an official press release from ESPN, a brand-new trailer for The Mandalorian season 3 will debut on the network on January 16th during the Monday Night Football Wild Card game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which will kick-off at 8pm ET (1am January 17th U.K.).
Season 2 concluded with Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) bidding farewell to Grogu and leaving him in the care of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), but we picked up with the characters during The Book of Boba Fett, where Mando reunited with his adorable travelling companion and set off for his home planet of Mandalore.
A somewhat vague season 3 synopsis reads: "The journeys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars galaxy continue," it reads. "Once a lone bounty hunter, Din Djarin has reunited with Grogu. Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history." "The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together."
This doesn't really tell us much, but the first teaser did confirm that Djarin and Grogu will encounter Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) again, so we'd say a duel for the right to wield the Darksaber is likely!
Very little else has been confirmed, but there are a lot of rumours doing the rounds, so at least a few surprises are bound to be in store.
