There's a massive amount of excitement surrounding The Mandalorian season 3, especially after recent reports about the show's possible premiere date. While Andor has impressed the vast majority of Star Wars fans, it's difficult to not count down the days until Din Djarin and Grogu make their return.
However, the wait to see more of The Child might be shorter than expected.
StarWarsNews.net (via SFFGazette.com) came across a now-deleted social media post from the Italian Disney+ accounts revealing that a Star Wars short, starring Grogu, will premiere on November 12.
Titled "Grogu and Dust Bunnies," the current assumption online is that this might be a photorealistic animated short along the lines of the recently released I Am Groot series from Marvel Studios. However, before we get too ahead of ourselves, it's worth pointing out that there is another, far less thrilling possibility.
As the site notes, it's quite likely this "Star Wars Zen" short is simply one of the ambient sounds/music videos that have previously been released on Disney+, meaning this won't be an actual adventure starring Grogu. We hope that's not the case, and the fact those social media posts have been deleted - after the account seemed to jump the gun - may be very telling.
This has received literally zero marketing, though November 12 does mark the anniversary of when The Mandalorian (and Disney+) premiered back in 2019. There's still some time to go before then too.
Regardless, we're sure Disney and Lucasfilm have plans to start building anticipation for The Mandalorian season 3, and a short like this one would be a good start. Only time will tell whether "Grogu and Dust Bunnies" proves to be something worth getting excited about, but here's hoping this apparent leak prompts Disney+ to share some official details sooner rather than later.
The Mandalorian is expected to premiere on Disney+ next February, so you'll want to make sure you keep checking SFFGazette.com for updates we have them.
