THE MANDALORIAN Star Pedro Pascal Believes The Franchise Will Inevitably Make The Leap To Theaters

The Mandalorian has received widespread acclaim from Star Wars fans, and star Pedro Pascal has revealed why he believes it's "inevitable" the franchise will one day make the leap from Disney+ to theaters.

The Mandalorian has been a huge hit for Disney+, and with season 4 confirmed, it seems clear that telling Din Djarin's story is going to be a priority for Lucasfilm moving forward. While Rangers of the New Republic was scrapped following Gina Carano's firing, we've already had one spinoff in The Book of Boba Fett, with two more on the horizon: Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew.

While the studio is clearly finding a great deal of success on streaming, the same isn't true in theaters. The Star Wars sequels were incredibly divisive, while upcoming projects like Rian Johnson's mystery trilogy and Patty Jenkins' Rogue Squadron appear to have fallen by the wayside. So, could Mando be brought to the big screen?

"Don't you think it's inevitable?" actor Pedro Pascal recently told Variety (via SFFGazette.com). "I, personally, I have no — truly — I have no idea, but that would be a dream come true. Not that any more dreams could possibly come true! [Laughs] Maybe I've had my fill."

"Seeing just the trailer on a big screen like that, I mean the way it envelopes you and takes you back, and at the same time, it is beyond special to be able to kind of have the intimate experience that we do have with these chapters of The Mandalorian and its expanded universe and everything that is to come and everything that's just started as far as Obi-Wan Kenobi, and we're figuring it out."

"I love going to the movies. Going back and just being able to be with an audience again is one of the most important things to me," he concluded. "If that happens with The Mandalorian, all I can say is...please!"

Pascal is clearly optimistic about the possibility of playing this already iconic bounty hunter in a movie, and we're sure a finale that premieres in theaters would be a massive box office hit. Remember, there's only so much room to tell Din's story in the twenty-five years or so between this show and The Force Awakens, and you have to believe Jon Favreau already has an endgame in mind.

For now, though, we're more than happy to see Mando's story continue each year on Disney+.

I wonder how many times he will take off his helmet in the movie to show that it’s actually him acting under there and satiate his ego…even though the way of this Mandalorian sect is to not remove your helmet.

Would not surprise me at all if we one day got Mandalorian, Grogu, whoever they can get back from the sequel trilogy, and some combination of new and OT characters in a film at some point. Too much money to be made

@OmegaDaGrodd - with a gap of almost 30 years between the sequels and the Mando saga, I don't really see Din interact with any sequels characters.

''we've already had one spinoff in The Book of Boba Fett, with two more on the horizon: Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew''

Skeleton Crew is a Mandalorian spin-off, or just a Star Wars spin-off in general?

Anyway, if the show's finale is anything like the The Rescue or The Clone Wars' Siege of Mandalore, I definitely wanna see it on the big screen too.

@bkmeijer1 - Skeleton Crew is a Star Wars spin-off in general, I don't have many details but it seems to follow a group of kids that get lost in the galaxy and have to find their way back to their home planet but at the same time it "Isn't a kids show"

I'm sure they said it takes place around the same time as Mando in the timeline

@JakeyChappers - okay gotcha. All I knew was that it was Jude Law and a bunch of kids. Would be fun if that show also has Huyong (that droid from the Clone Wars younglings arc) in it

Pedro - "I have no idea"

@JoshWilding - "Pedro said he thinks it will go to the movie theatres!"

This is the equivalent of an actual news editor writing a headline that doesn't match up with the author's article at all...except this time the author and the editor are the same person.

@duncboy - well he does say ''we're figuring it out''

But even then, it still doesn't match up

i dont know. i think making the jump to theaters is a step backward for this franchise. trying to squeeze his story into two hours after we are used to six to seven hours of story. its not worth it to me just to get a bump in special effects budget. i rather have more story instead of better special effects.

@supermanrex - if it's just a season finale (like this show's The Rescue) or an arc (The Clone Wars' Siege of Mandalore), then I can see it make the jump.

Or rather, I wanna see it make the jump. Those two are examples of content I wish I could've seen on the big screen
