THE MANDALORIAN Star Timothy Olyphant Teases Possible Return As Cobb Vanth In Dave Filoni's STAR WARS Movie

The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett star Timothy Olyphant has weighed in on possibly reprising the role of Cobb Vanth in Dave Filoni's Star Wars movie, and it sounds like something is in the works.

Cobb Vanth first appeared in The Mandalorian's season 2 premiere, with the show revealing that after he discovered Boba Fett's armour, the Marshal of Freetown used it to protect his home. He'd later cross paths with Din Djarin when the bounty hunter came looking for one of his fellow Mandalorians.

A thrilling team-up followed which saw Vanth eventually give up that armour (it later found its way back into Fett's hands), but that wasn't where his story ended.

When Tatooine's new crime boss needed some backup in The Book of Boba Fett, Din asked Vanth for his help. Before he could get involved, though, a duel with Cad Bane ended badly for the hero and we were led to believe he'd fallen in battle. It seemed like a waste of an awesome character, but the spin-off series had one final surprise in store.

A post-credits scene confirmed Vanth was in a Bacta Tank and about to receive some cybernetic upgrades, a good indication that we can expect him to live to fight another day.

There was no sign of him in The Mandalorian season 3 and Olyphant has seemingly teased possible plans for him to return as Cobb Vanth in Dave Filoni's planned Mando-verse crossover movie.

"If I had [talks with Filoni], I wouldn’t tell you," he stated in an interview with The Playlist (via SFFGazette.com). "Honestly, I can tell you that I’ve been very, very lucky with those guys. I’ve only done two episodes and to have only done those two episodes and feel like you’re part of a world and they created such a memorable character."

"I mean, you know, I’m getting away with something here. I did two episodes and I’ve got like four toys out there. It’s ridiculous, and I know it because all of a sudden there are people at the airport with toys. That’s new. But, it was a ball working on those things and those guys know if they call me I’d show up."

"I don’t care if it’s a big giant thing or just to show up for an afternoon," Olyphant concluded. "It’s a fun gig."

For now, we remain in the dark about Cobb Vanth's future but something tells us the actor probably has an idea about when he'll return to this Galaxy Far, Far Away. The Book of Boba Fett season 2 appears to be off the table, but all these characters coming together in Filoni's "Heir to the Empire" movie to put an end to Grand Admiral Thrawn makes all the sense in the world.

Very good actor. He would make a great Doctor Doom or Mr. Sinister in the MCU. He could even do Magneto.

Cad Bane should not have been killed so that these two could face each other again

I like the character, but the after credits scene in Book of Boba Fett was bullshit. Having Cobb Vanth survive cheapens Cad Bane's introduction.
