Director Bong Joon-ho already delivered an acclaimed adaptation of the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige with 2013’s live-action Snowpiercer film, but TNT is currently developing a TV series based on the same book.
However, the project has hit another snag as Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange) revealed over Twitter that he would no longer be directing the pilot episode, citing creative differences with showrunner Graeme Manson (Orphan Black) and his “radically different vision.”
This isn’t the first time drama ensued behind the scenes, as former showrunner Josh Friedman (Sarah Conner Chronicles) slammed the network for wanting someone more compliant after his departure.
Despite these hiccups, Daveed Diggs (Hamilton) and Spider-Man: Homecoming’s Jennifer Connelly are still expected to have starring roles in the show, and it appears TNT remains determined to move forward with the project.
