DOCTOR STRANGE Director Scott Derrickson Departs SNOWPIERCER Over Disagreements With Showrunner

After replacing one showrunner, TNT's Snowpiercer will be facing another challenge, as Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson announces he will no longer be helming the pilot episode for the series.

Director Bong Joon-ho already delivered an acclaimed adaptation of the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige with 2013’s live-action Snowpiercer film, but TNT is currently developing a TV series based on the same book.

However, the project has hit another snag as Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange) revealed over Twitter that he would no longer be directing the pilot episode, citing creative differences with showrunner Graeme Manson (Orphan Black) and his “radically different vision.”

This isn’t the first time drama ensued behind the scenes, as former showrunner Josh Friedman (Sarah Conner Chroniclesslammed the network for wanting someone more compliant after his departure.

Despite these hiccups, Daveed Diggs (Hamilton) and Spider-Man: Homecoming’s Jennifer Connelly are still expected to have starring roles in the show, and it appears TNT remains determined to move forward with the project.

I know what behind-the-scenes drama tastes like.

And I know that basic cable drama tastes best...

Good on you Mr. Derrickson for not compromising the original vision.

At the end of the day there's much more important stories we need you for.

Scott Derrickson then added, "plus Kevin Feige rang the dinner bell and I want seconds."

He doesn't want to be both the Lord/Miller and the Ron Howard for this pilot? I can understand that.

@Kyos - Would each of them be a third, or would he be half Howard and a quarter Lord and Miller respectively?

Off-topic, but it sounds like Evangeline Lilly and Brie Larson hit it off on the Avengers set.

Fingers crossed for on-screen chemistry and some Avengers sorority. That team is in desperate need of clearheaded leadership (that doesn't constantly incite the insecurity of a narcissistic billionaire).

(And yes, I am blown away that this cobbled series of gifs actually represent a thing now, and not just some Wizard Magazine fan-wank page filler.)

Hold up, it says you need a non-USA region dvd player. Not sure if that aplies to you or not.

Also, from what I remember, there isnt very much Korean dialog. So its still very watchable without subtitles
