Over at IGN,
Last week, the folks behind DC Universe Online announced that the MMO would go free to play at the end of October. However, if you go the free route and don't chip in any of your own money, you won't be earning any PlayStation Network Trophies. Free players have access to the entire game, but their actions won't unlock Sony's answer to Microsoft's Achievement Points. To earn the trinkets, players have to pay $5 to become a Premium member or $15 to become a Legendary member.

Wait a minute...it does work on the PC too right?? Cos I was gonna have a go at it once it got free but dont temme now it's only for the PS3?!?

I hope there is a way to switch from platinum to free to play. Honestly,trophies are over rated. I can do without them, and all MMO's should be free to play. If I want it's DLC, I'll make a microtransaction.

Game is terrible! I was so excited about it when I first heard the news but this was probably one of the biggest let downs in gaming history IMO!
If you decide to play, don't worry about spending too much time in the character creation like I did. As soon as you equip a new article it will completely ruin what you've been working on. That, horrid navigation, ridiculous server lag, and amazingly stupid quests make this movie one of the worst I have ever played!
