First Full GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY: THE TELLTALE SERIES Trailer Brings Thanos, Nova And More

Though the Guardians of the Galaxy featured in Marvel and Telltale's new episodic adventure video game may look and act like their MCU counterparts, the game is taking its inspiration from the comics and not Marvel's film division. As such, we have adult-Groot and not Baby Groot, a Thanos confrontation and a Nova Corps that actually refers to Peter Quill as Star-Lord.

Episode 01 of the five part series will be released digitally on April 18.  Physical discs hit local retailer shelves on May 02.  Are you already planning on purchasing the $4.99 title or are you waiting on reviews?  What did you think of Telltale's last superhero outing, Batman: The Telltale Series? Let us know in the comment section below.  And be sure to check out our sister gaming site, Gamefragger.com.

A brand new story of the universe’s unlikeliest heroes: Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot. In the wake of an epic battle, the Guardians discover an artifact of unspeakable power. Each of them has a reason to desire this relic, as does a ruthless enemy who is the last of her kind, and who will stop at nothing to tear it from their hands.

From Earth to the Milano to Knowhere and beyond, and set to the beat of awesome music, you wear the rocket-powered boots of Star-Lord in an original Guardians adventure, where your decisions and actions drive the story you experience.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series arrives April 18th!

I can't tell if I'm really looking forward to this or really not.

@TheMadman - That's a tough call, it's a GOTG game which is sweet, in and of itself. However, it's also a TellTales game which is good if you like an interactive novel, but lame if you want more elements to play with in your game...

For example; The Grand Theft Auto series has amazing stories in it, but they also have amazing gameplay that keeps you coming back even after you finish the story. These TellTales games just strictly have the story based off what dialogue you say. Would it be interesting to play the game more than once? Sure, but the gameplay would be lacking, and there would only be so much branching off of the story (although the story might just be the same with different dialogue branches) that was set...

Honestly, I'd just wait for Square Enix to put out their own 'Guardians of the Galaxy' title, that one should have much more gameplay than this one.

@PrimitiveMan - I believe alongside the Avengers game that was announced by Square Enix, they're also doing a GotG game. I could be wrong...but I'm almost certain I recall hearing this.

@chewie - I believe Walking Dead and Game of Thrones first episodes are free so it's definitely worth checking out. Only ones I've played fully are Wolf Among Us and TWD which are great and easily recommendable to non-gamers as well.
