Next month marks the beginning of the end for Telltale's
The Walking Dead video game series. Ahead of
The Final Season's premiere on August 14, the developer is giving fans a chance to go hands-on with the first episode.
Available today, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 owners can download the demo for episode one of
The Final Season. The demo provides a look at the first 15 minutes of the first episode and allows you to experience the new combat and camera system as well as the improved art style.
This is also the same 15-minute gameplay demo that was shared online at San Diego Comic-Con, so if you don't feel like downloading it, you can just watch it below. And because it's only the beginning of the episode, it's void of any spoilers.
Clementine, now a fierce and capable survivor, has reached the final chapter in her journey. After years on the road facing threats both living and dead, a secluded school might finally be her chance for a home. But protecting it will mean sacrifice. Clem must build a life and become a leader while still watching over AJ, an orphaned boy and the closest thing to family she has left. In this gripping, emotional final season, you will define your relationships, fight the undead, and determine how Clementine's story ends.
Episode one of
The Walking Dead: The Final Season is set to debut on August 14 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Pre-ordering the entire season ($19.99) not only grants access to each episode as they become available but also a free copy of
The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series Collection, a bundle of all 19 existing episodes in the series.
The Final Season will also release on Nintendo Switch later this year.
