I thought Legacy was a pretty neat spin on MK. Not a huge fan of season 2, but it was cool to see. Hopefully, whomever is at the helm of the movie can take it to the next level and we can see a kick-ass Mortal Kombat movie.

While I would love a MK movie, I much prefer a sequel to 2011's MK game.

He was the reason the world opened up to Mortal Kombat in live-action again. Ugh!
His sister (who played Scorpion's wife) is Jed Whedon's wife. Maybe he's moving onto Agents of SHIELD?

Thank god! Legacy is alright for what it is but, this movie deserves someone with actual talent. We don't need the movie to be another Mortal Kombat: Rebirth. God that was [frick]ing stupid. David Slade for MK!

they should probably ask James Wan if he's willing to do it. But James will probably be busy doing Spawn movie anytime soon.

Also ... i think they should focus on MK4 storyline. Best storyline so far. In my humble opinion.
Some great characters there.

Shinnok, Reiko, Quan Chi.

@Supercat

lol. Those drawings !

Good, he was so bad as a director for a freaking online series, imagine him directing a flick on the big screen (IMO)?!?

Now, for a Mortal Kombat, they should get a filmmaker who at least isn't just great at directing action and fighting, but also understands the mythology and culture behind this franchise, as well as a writer who at least can pen a good script. For director, get someone like Justin Lin (Fast Five and Fast & Furious 6) or Ang Lee (Life Of Pi, Brokeback Mountain), not because they are asians (not in a racist manner), but they can get behind the style and feel of Mortal Kombat and can bring it to life. The story/plot can obviously take notes and have The Avengers as an inspiration, but since this is most likely an origin story, you should start with a small ensemble of at least 10-12 characters (and actors) in total for the MK Competition.

That being said, the following should be the characters that should be in the film, and the actors that I put portraying them are just examples as well as some who can pull off their roles:

-Liu Kang (played by John Cho)
-Sonya Blade (played by Scarlett Johansson)
-Johnny Cage (played by Ryan Gosling)
-Raiden (played by Liam Neeson)
-Jackson "Jax" Briggs (played by Jamie Foxx)
-Sub-Zero (played by Donnie Yen)
-Scorpion (played by Scott Adkins)
-Shang Tsung (played by Ken Watanabe)
-Kano (played by Joel Edgerton)
-Goro (played and voiced by Ron Perlman)
-Reptile (played by Ray Park)
-Sheeva (played by Ming-Na Wen)

So the guy who is known for directing such great films such as Glee: The 3D Concert Movie, Fame, and The Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll, want's to leave the one genre and film series that may actual help him break into the mainstream, to pursue other things?

C'mon, this guy had a vision that was backed by fans and even the studio itself, and hes just throwing away an opportunity direct a feature film? I'm at a loss for words. Not that I'm saying hes a great director or anything, just seems like a stupid decision on his part.

I agree with most of your cast there, but a few changes.

Liu Kang - Tony Jaa
Sonya - Famke Janssen or Katie Sachoff
Johnny Cage - Sam Worthington
Jax - Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson or Dwayne Johnson
Shang Tsung - Jackie Chan (as a villain for the first time!)

Wait a minute.... does this mean no Legacy Season Three????? I would hope not considering it ending on a cliff hanger!?!?!?!?

Is he seriously not going to do one more season to end the series?????????? Can we clarify if Legacy is continuing or not.
Visualiza
Visualiza - 10/25/2013, 7:57 PM
Makes sense. Where would they even go with the movie after all that happened in the series? There wasn't a very strict sense of continuity and logic as the episodes progressed; seemingly random things happened without rhyme or reason. The style and tone were nice, and the acting wasn't half bad, but that's about where the positive begins and ends.

Seems like he simply got it out of his system; the MK monkey is off his back.
