We suggest you take this news with a fairly big grain of salt, but it is possible that Sony could be considering bringing us a movie adaptation of the hit game The Last Of Us.

The popular PS3 exclusive The Last Of Us by developers Naughty Dog (perhaps best known for the Crash Bandicoot series and the Uncharted series) may just be joining Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell, Far Cry, and many other video game adaptations on the big screen. Now, just highlight the word "may." You can take this with a pretty big grain of salt, but Sony has just registered two domains that hint at a movie based on the popular video game. On November 25, Sony's online brand protection agency MarkMonitor registered the domains TheLastOfUs-Movie.com and TheLastOfUsMovie.net, while the registrant's email has a Sony Pictures address. You can interpret this any way you want. It is likely that Sony are considering the game's massive success and possibly thinking about bringing the game's fans a movie adaptation, but it is equally possible that they are simply 'calling dibs' on the domain in case they ever do decide to make a movie. We don't know for sure right now, but it is a possibility. The game has received enormous critical acclaim, mainly because of the game's incredible story, so it is highly possible Sony are looking to expand this game into a series of both video games and quite possibly movies. It is possible that they won't be making a movie, but if Sony ever does, who would you like to see play main characters Joel and Ellie? Sound off in the usual place.
"The Last of Us is a survival horror action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment exclusively for the PlayStation 3. The player takes control of Joel (Troy Baker) who is trekking across a post-apocalyptic United States in 2033, in order to escort the young Ellie (Ashley Johnson) to a friendly resistance group, the Fireflies. The player defends the characters against zombie-like creatures infected with the Cordyceps fungus, as well as hostile humans such as bandits and cannibals.
The Last of Us received overwhelmingly positive reviews from most major critics, with over 50 perfect scores from gaming publications. The game holds a score of 95 on Metacritic."
