Screen Gems (via IGN) has shared a first official look at the upcoming Monster Hunter live-action movie, which is an adaptation of the popular Capcom video game series.

The image features Resident Evil star Milla Jovovich as heroine Natalie Artemis, who is an original character created for the movie, alongside Thai martial arts legend Tony Jaa as The Hunter of the title.

The pair are running across South Africa's Atlantis Dunes, which will double for a location from the game known as the Wildspire Waste.

We also have a synopsis:

"Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When Lt. Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her loyal soldiers are transported from our world to the new world, the unflappable lieutenant receives the shock of her life. In her desperate battle for survival against enormous enemies with incredible powers and unstoppable, revolting attacks, Artemis will team up with a mysterious man who has found a way to fight back."

Monster Hunter also stars Meagan Good, T.I., Diego Boneta, and Ron Perlman. There is no official release date yet.
