Gazillion Entertainment, a leading developer, publisher and operator of massively multiplayer online (MMO) games, has announced that the eagerly awaited free-to-play online game Marvel Heroes will be playable for the first time during Comic-Con International: San Diego at the Marvel Booth # 2329. Marvel Heroes combines the energy of action role-playing games with the breadth and immersion of the MMO genre.

As part of the San Diego Comic-Con, fans will be able to play one of four iconic Marvel characters and experience Marvel Heroes for the first time! Players will battle through the war-torn streets of Mutant Town and Fort Stryker to defeat Magneto and retrieve William Stryker from his clutches. Along the way, players will also get a taste of the extensive loot and costume options for each hero. Developers of the game will be available at the booth to guide players and answer questions during play.

Written by comic book writer Brian Michael Bendis, Marvel Heroes is inspired by some of the most popular stories in Marvel Comics history. The playable characters include Black Widow, Cable, Captain America, Colossus, Cyclops, Deadpool, Emma Frost, Hawkeye, Hulk, Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man, Storm, The Thing, Thor, and Wolverine. More are expected to be announced in the near future. No release date for the game is currently known.

Pretty interested in this one, maybe worth a pick up, and could be more interesting than DC Universe.

In terms of trailers for the games, it is a no contest those ones for DC Universe online were spectacular, and although didn't show any gameplay they were great to watch.

Anyways not really a fan of these MMO type games if I am honest, so hope it does well, but for me I want a decent Superman game and/or Avengers / JL Game and titles like these are just not going to provide it.

Dr. Doom is cool and all, but what about other Marvel villains. Didn't we get him in the first ultimate alliance?

How about using Mephisto or Doc Ock like in Spider-Man ends of the Earth or something?

Looks interesting though! Better than nothing!

I also remember seeing it described as an MMORPG before... did they change it?

cuz the RPG part is really the only thing that'll make or break this game

I just want to see a really good Marvel fighting game. No Capcom, no Street Fighter, no VS anyone else. Just Marvel vs Marvel. After that, Marvel vs DC fighting game.

its a free game that plays like diablo. not a pricey console game. Most of you are missing the point.

I can't play MMO games, they visually look like garbage and that ruins the experience for me.

I thought it WAS a console game. The free part means you dont pay a monthly fee to play it. Or am I missing something?

Oh thanks guys. I thought it was coming to 360 originally. I love Diablo, so I hope this doesnt disappoint.

The gameplay looks very Diablo'ish.
I like it.
The cool thing about Diablo and most MMO's, and surely what makes people wanna play all the time is getting better equipment, I wonder how they'll integrate that in the game. Would be cool, if, unlike Diablo, there were ''roles'' like tanks and DPS'. I think the main problem with a game like DCUO (unlike WoW, for instance) is that your role in a group is so unclear unless you play all the time.

I'll definitely try it out.

Lets hope that in this Marvel can finally give us a good comic book MMO. I had such high hopes for DC Universe and it just failed to deliver.
