After months of uncertainty, EA officially announced that a direct sequel to Respawn's Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was in development back in January, and we now have a first look at Star Wars Jedi: Survivor via an exciting cinematic trailer.
The teaser doesn't give much away, but we are introduced to a menacing new Pau'an villain who appears to have gotten his hands on Cal Kestis' lightsaber. Speaking of the young force-wielder (now a full Jedi by the sounds of it), we see him approaching a mysterious figure in a bacta tank with his loyal droid BD-1 perched on his shoulder.
Where are the allies Cal gained in the first game? It's not clear, but we assume Cere Junda, Greez Dritus, and Nightsister Merrin will appear in some capacity.
Check out the trailer below along with a new synopsis.
"Star Wars Jedi: Survivor picks up five years after the events of Jedi: Fallen Order. Cal must stay one step ahead of the Empire’s constant pursuit as he begins to feel the weight of being one of the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy. Accompanied by his trusty companion BD-1, Cal will meet and ally himself with an array of unique and interesting characters on his journey. Jedi: Survivor will expand on the series’ dynamic combat in new and innovative ways. In order to survive, Cal must learn new skills and grow his connection with the Force."
The highly-anticipated Star Wars action RPG will be released on next-gen platforms PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC at some point in 2023. No word on whether the game will be available for past-gen consoles, but with more developers shifting focus to new-gen systems, it seems unlikely.
