The BioShock movie has been waylaid by some Intruders.

28 Weeks Later helmer Juan Carlos Fresnadillo will direct the thriller Intruders next instead of the highly anticipated game-to-film adaptation. Production on Intruders is set to begin this June in London and Madrid with Clive Owen and Daniel Bruhl set to star. The story is said to revolve around an adolescent girl facing her childhood demons.

The Hollywood Reporter says Owen will play the girl's dad, and that Fresnadillo remains attached to direct Universal's adaptation of BioShock. The Wrap adds that BioShock is currently in pre-production, which is a good sign for the long-gestating project. An even better sign would be if the filmmaker attached to make it didn't spend a year or so working on another film in-between.
