Rick isn't the only character from
The Walking Dead's expansive universe fans will be saying goodbye to. With Telltale's video game adventure series coming to an end shortly, we will also bid farewell to Clementine.
The Walking Dead: The Final Season will serve as the fourth and final season of Telltale's series, which is set in the same fictional post-apocalyptic, zombie-infested world as Kirkman's comics. Ahead of next month's release of the first episode in
The Final Season, Telltale has released the first 15 minutes of gameplay.
As teased in previously released trailers, Clementine is now older and much more accustomed to the bleak world she now lives in. In a setup that eerily mirrors that of the first season - in which a young Clementine was taken under the wing of Lee Everett - Clementine now finds herself looking out for AJ. Throughout much of the gameplay, Clementine teaches AJ the same valuable lessons she learned with Lee. We also get a look at Telltale's signature gameplay, which typically features quick time events, decision-making, and lots of storytelling. Check out the first 15 minutes of
The Final Season episode one.
The currently untitled first episode of
The Walking Dead: The Final Season will be available for download on August 14 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. A Nintendo Switch version is slated to release later this year.
The Final Season is currently available for pre-order for $19.99; pre-ordering guarantees access to each of the season's four episodes as they become available. Anyone who pre-orders on Xbox One or PlayStation 4 will receive access to
The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series Collection, a bundle of all 19 previously released episodes in the series.
On a related note, AMC released the trailer for
The Walking Dead Season 9 at Comic-Con.
