Antonio Banderas has reportedly joined the cast of Sony Pictures' Uncharted movie.

According to Variety, the Academy Award-nominated Pain and Glory star has signed on for an undisclosed role alongside the previously cast Tom Holland (Nathan Drake) and Mark Wahlberg Sully). The report also confirms that Venom director Reuben Fletcher has officially closed his deal to helm the long-gestating project.

Sophia Ali (Grey's Anatomy, Truth or Dare) and Tati Gabrielle (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) have also joined the cast in key roles, but we have no details on which characters they'll play.

Art Marcum and Matt Holloway wrote the most recent draft of the script. Uncharted is set to release in theaters March 5, 2021.

SMH, they're actually going through with this.

@Primordiac - Nathan Drake isn't a Tom Holland role. This reminds me of Men In Black International, Hemsworth and Thompson are great actors but they didn't fit their roles.

His performance in Pain and Glory was pretty beautiful, would have thought he'd have more exciting offers than a Ruben Fletcher film lol. Maybe they should pull a "Logan" with his Zorro.

@tmp3

The first Zorro from Martin Campbell was awesome 🙌🏻

Never saw the sequel.

What is the Reuben Fletcher appeal? Him directing just kinda solidifies this as a misguided project people weren't excited about in the first place. Zombieland is so average and then there's Venom. I don't get it.

OT: The Star Wars novel shit is really starting to piss me off. What the hell even is this? Like just STOP. The movie was bad enough and they're somehow making it worse with these dumb novels trying to fill in gaps no one's interested in.

- A novelization of the film to be released later this month cited by ComicBook.com as well as excerpts circulating on social media detailed what happened after Ben Solo sacrificed himself to save Rey. On screen, the two kiss. But they also gaze at each other for a long moment, and some fans believe a kind of communication between the two of them took place. The novel confirms it.

“A voice came to her through the Force, clear and strong.

‘I will always be with you,’ Ben said.

She smiled. Let the truth of it wash over her.

‘No one’s ever really gone,’ she whispered.”

Seriously, is this a joke?

I'm not too familiar with the game Uncharted, but the amount of hate for this movie pre-production is astronomical. Lol

@KWilly - ...because it's been in the works for years. It's the video game equivalent of the Gambit movie.

That's my best guess as to why so much hate (and the decision to make it a young Nathan Drake).

God, I was obsessed with Zorro as a kid. Would love a third one where he plays the Anthony Hopkins role and passes down the mantle to his successor, aka his son.

I think we might have really turned a corner with movies and TV shows based on video games.

Surely Antonio Banderas will play a Latin trafficker. Although I would bet that he traffic with antiques.
