While interviews from the Uncharted junket have started showing up online, we've yet to see any social media reactions or reviews for the movie. They could be imminent, but the radio silence might be an indication that this is another disappointing video game adaptation. The reaction to Uncharted's trailers has definitely been mixed, particularly in regards to Mark Wahlberg's portrayal of Sully.

A complete miscast in the eyes of fans, the actor appears to be playing a character we've seen from him countless times before in action movies. Even releasing a scene with him rocking Sully's familiar moustache was met with more ridicule than praise from fans of the Naughty Dog series!

Regardless, Sully and Tom Holland's Nathan Drake are given the spotlight in these new character posters - as are a couple of flying pirate ships! We're definitely intrigued to see how Uncharted pans out...and whether it can live up to the critically acclaimed video games starring Nolan North as Nate.

"Street-smart thief Nathan Drake is recruited by seasoned treasure hunter Victor "Sully" Sullivan to recover a fortune lost by Ferdinand Magellan 500 years ago," reveals the new synopsis. "What starts as a heist job for the duo becomes a globe-trotting, white-knuckle race to reach the prize before the ruthless Moncada, who believes he and his family are the rightful heirs. If Nate and Sully can decipher the clues and solve one of the world’s oldest mysteries, they stand to find $5 billion in treasure and perhaps even Nate’s long-lost brother...but only if they can learn to work together."

Directed by Ruben Fleischer from a screenplay by Rafe Judkins and Art Marcum & Matt Holloway, the movie stars Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg, Sophia Ali, Tati Gabrielle, and Antonio Banderas.

Uncharted is set to arrive in theaters on February 18. In the UK, it arrives a little sooner on February 11.

It's a bad sign when the guy playing sully looks more like Nathan than the guy playing Nathan.

@Origame - Holland looks like young Nathan which is what we are getting.

@Origame - I'm really hoping Sully gets his moustache at some point, which I think was hinted at by a BTS makeup video Marky posted online:

@mrbaconsock - it was in one of the trailers. They're doing a whole build up thing to it (I know, dumb).

The head on the Mark Wahlberg poster looks so off but the Tom Holland one is decent. I can’t stop being annoyed by the fact that they’ve basically turned Sullys mustache into something that’s supposed to make us excited about a sequel. It makes absolutely no sense.

These posters are really bad. I'm starting to see a correlation between movies starring Tom Holland, produced by Sony, and bad posters

Perfect examples of how not to do posters.

@MaxPaint - They may not be the best designs, but they do remind me of the game covers and other promotional art. They're at least "uncharted-y"

Why are movie posters nowadays just barf-like derivatives of Marvel movies.. Uninspired and overlit characters standing around with horribly cartoonish backgrounds.

@BigMikeReviews - yeah. Especially with marvel posters already being uninspired.

I'd love a poster recreating the box art for at least one of the games.

@BobGarlen - I'm almost surprised they aren't doing that, considering they ripped off the plane scene from uncharted 3.

@Origame - would be an easy poster to sell.

No amount of CGI or fight choreography can wash away the fact this movie already earned the crown for the worst video game adaptation lead character casting of all time
