Sony Pictures is in talks with
Bumblebee director Travis Knight to take the helm of the long-delayed
Uncharted movie. Tom Holland is still attached to play the young Nathan Drake and it's said that he's been involved with the talks to find a new director ever since Dan Trachtenberg became the latest filmmaker to walk away from the video game adaptation.
As well as that
Transformers spinoff, Knight also helmed on
Kubo and The Two Strings.
The latest version of the
Uncharted screenplay was written by Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Rafe Judkins. It's said that the movie will focus on Nathan Drake as a young man as he grows into the treasure hunter we all know and love from the hit PlayStation series.
That's already explored Nate's childhood, so it will obviously be interesting seeing what this movie brings to the table. Common sense says that this story won't serve as a prequel to the games and will instead be a new take that's simply inspired by them. We'll have to wait and see but assuming there aren't any more "creative differences," things will hopefully start moving quickly now.
Are you guys excited for
Uncharted?
