The first Uncharted trailer seems to have left fans with mixed feelings, though it appears Sony Pictures has attempted to recapture the magic of Naughty Dog's beloved video game franchise.
You can watch that sneak peek here, and we also have a few new stills for you to take a look at. The first shows Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) and Sully (Mark Wahlberg) teaming up - we're not sure how to feel about that missing 'tache - and the former undeniably looks like he's stepped straight out of the games.
The second image shows Nate alongside Sophia Ali's mysterious female lead; after that trailer, we do wonder if she's supposed to be a reinvented version of Chloe Frazer.
Finally, the spotlight is moved to Antonio Banderas' villain. We don't know much about him other than the fact that he's also pursuing "the greatest treasure never found." It definitely feels like Uncharted has borrowed a lot from the games (reinventing it along the way), so we're intrigued to see the end result.
Take a look at those new stills (and a featurette) below:
Based on one of the best-selling, most critically acclaimed video game series of all time, Uncharted introduces audiences to the young street-smart Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) and showcases his first treasure hunting adventure with wisecracking partner Victor "Sully" Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg). In an action-adventure epic that spans the globe, the two go in dangerous pursuit of "the greatest treasure never found" while also tracking clues that may lead to Nathan’s long-lost brother.
Directed by Ruben Fleischer from a screenplay by Rafe Judkins and Art Marcum & Matt Holloway, the movie stars Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg, Sophia Ali, Tati Gabrielle, and Antonio Banderas.
Uncharted is set to arrive in theaters on February 18. In the UK, it arrives a little sooner on February 11.
