I waited for this game to release for so long. Downloaded it, and I absolutely hate the control scheme. I'm so disappointed. I haven't touched it since then. I don't understand the logic of waiting so long to release something, and you don't actually play as the characters. Just because its made by the same people as Diablo doesn't mean it should play the same way.

Maybe I should try it again, because I read your article on the ten reasons, and I have to ask, number one. How exactly do you get to play as your favorite characters? Cause it seems you have to get lucky playing the game to get a character you really want. Unless you spend actual money. Its great that its free. Just don't understand why they would develop it the way they did. If I want to play a superhero MMO, I want to play as the hero. It should feel unique to each character. Not point with the mouse and watch the character do what I told them to. I'm the biggest Marvel fan I know. I don't dislike DC, but I'm just a bigger Marvel fan. And I have to say, as excited as I was for this game, DC Universe online is a much better free to play MMO. If they decide to put it on console like they did Diablo 3 with an actual controller scheme, I will definately give it a try again.

With the splinter system you have to just collect splinters & then you can use the splinters to buy the hero you want. This has been mentioned in the blog post.

How long does it take to build up enough splinters?

Depends on how much you play but it isnt a quick process. Then again, for a free game you can't expect to get free stuff in a jiffy...
