VIDEO GAMES: MARVEL VS CAPCOM: INFINITE Won't Be Released Until Late-2017

A higher-up at Capcom has revealed that you'll have to wait approximately one year to play Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite on Xbox One or PS4. However, fighting game enthusiasts will love the reason why...

According to Capcom producer Tomoaki Ayano, despite the game being announced this month at PSX 2016, Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite will not actually hit retailer shelves until late-2017. The reasoning behind that decision is pretty sound because Capcom's preeminent fighting-game IP, Street Fighter, will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2017. As such, there will be a ton of events and contests and new DLC being released for Street Fighter V and Capcom doesn't want Infinite to overshadow the important milestone.  So, you should probably expect to add Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite on next year's Holiday shopping list.

@Matador - they are already doing it, essentially they make you pay for "seasons" with new characters instead of making you buy an entirely new game.

Hoping Cable and Ghost Rider return. Obviously series mainstays like Spidey and Wolvie will return but still. Wonder how Capcom's roster will change? They've resurrected X (even though personally I would have loved the original MegaMan)

@Danbito - I don't think Wolverine is in. I think they're staying away from Xmen altogether
