Before the release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey on December 14th, fans of Middle-Earth will be able to get their hands on LEGO The Lord of the Rings; a video game which will take players through all three epic films with the trademark LEGO style and humour. Thanks to IGN, we have the following featurette which takes us even further into the creation of the LEGO version of Middle-Earth which was originally brought to life in three films by Peter Jackson. As you can see, the developers are taking a lot of influences from the films (including dialogue). LEGO The Lord of the Rings will be available for the PC, Nintendo Wii, Wii U, 3DS, PS Vita, PS3 and Xbox 360.

LEGO The Lord of the Rings takes players along on the adventures of Frodo Baggins and his unlikely fellowship as they set out on a perilous journey to destroy The One Ring and save Middle-earth. Kids, tweens, teens and parents can traverse the Misty Mountains, explore the Mines of Moria, knock on the Black Gate of Mordor, and partake in epic battles with Orcs, Uruk-hai, the Balrog and other fearsome foes while harnessing the humor and imagination of LEGO gameplay to solve puzzles and explore Middle-earth. Players will take on the form of their favorite members of the fellowship – Frodo the Hobbit, Aragorn the Ranger, Gandalf the Wizard, Legolas the Elf, Gimli the Dwarf, Boromir a Man of Gondor, and Frodo's Hobbit friends Sam, Merry and Pippin – as they relive the most momentous events from the films.

WHY NO ONLINE COOP...
WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME? I remember playing LEGO Star Wars I & II with my cousin when I was younger. Now most of my friends that would play this game with me live either far away or have no time to come over. There is really no point on buying this game for me since I only enjoy them in coop mode (same reason I didnt buy LEGO Batman 2).
