Apparently Fox Wants Bryan Singer To Direct FANTASTIC FOUR 2 En Route To X-MEN Crossover

Could we see Bryan Singer shepard Fox's cinematic universe? That's the word on the geek-street anyway. A new report claims the plan is for Singer to take over from Josh Trank on Fantastic Four 2, and then helm that X-Men/FF crossover we've been hearing so many rumors about...

It seems 20th Century Fox is hoping to replicate the massive success Bryan Singer has had with his X-Men movies and hand the director the reigns of the Fantastic Four franchise after Josh Trank's first rebooted instalment debuts this August. At least, that's what This Is Infamous has heard. According to the site, the plan is to basically make Singer the Don of their superhero cinematic universe, with an eye to him helming an X-Men/Fantastic Four crossover in 2018 after at least one more solo Fantastic Four flick. Apparently Fox hopes both he and producer Simon Kinberg can do for them something similar to what Kevin Feige has been able to achieve for Marvel.

Though the studio is reportedly not as pleased with Trank's first movie as we might have been led to believe, they still see it as a "decent introduction to the new direction its characters will be taking" and are looking for a distinct vision" to take things to the next level.

Obviously until this is confirmed we'll have to have to keep that grain or two of salt handy, but it does make sense at least. Would you like to see Bryan Singer usher in a cinematic universe for Fox's stable of Marvel characters?
