James Marsden open to return as Cyclops for "X-Men 4"

Somebody tell Lauren Shuler Donner

Yeah, we know that producer Lauren Shuler Donner said last week that an "X-Men 4" is a while away, but someone is ready and waiting to come back when the time comes: James (Cyclops) Marsden. Considering the heavy fan backlash to the character's off-screen death by being demolecularized by Jean Grey's kiss, we didn't actually SEE Cyclops die, so he could be alive, right? Here's what Marsden told MTV News about reprising his role:

"It's a great role, [and] if the script comes out and they want to go forward with it and there's enough for me to do in there," he said, "Then absolutely."

I agree with Marsden on the "enough for me to do" comment, considering Cyclops was pretty much side-lined for all three "X-Men" films Marsden was featured in. Sure, an "X-Men 4" isn't in the foreseeable future, but who else would like to see Marsden don the ruby-red Oakley glasses again as Scott Summers?
