"Further exploration of a possible female suit. Valves were included, as the costumes would serve as flight suits." - Thomas Whitehouse

"One of a series of concepts for the X-Men suits, created in conjunction with costume designer Sammy Sheldon. We needed to establish a basis for the design which could then be customised for each character." - Thomas Whitehouse

Um...thank God for the costumes we got to see in the movie. Cool Azazel swords, though, but they were barely seen up-close in the movie.

The final product is great and has this beautiful realistic application of the original costumes (sans the masks of course).

But I have absolutely NO IDEA how the concept art got anywhere close to THESE. They don't even REMOTELY look inspired off of ANYTHING.

The costumes look like they were designed by a costume designer, not a concept artist. The sets also seem more like they were done by set designers rather than concept artists, but I suspect its a bit of both. Im happy they didnt go in those directions. Im sure the designs were meant to look retro.

Most of these costumes are terrible, but I think Mystique's second one could actually work with some major tweaks here and there.

I'm much more thankful with the final suits we got after seeing these. For sure.

Yeah, those are all pretty [frick]ing terrible. God forbid they use anything even remotely close to how they looked in the comics. Xavier looks like a walking waste bin. This movie was a forgivable attempt mainly because of Magneto, but I still for the life of me don't understand why it seemed like a better idea to make Mystique look like a lizard? Mystique was pretty hot in the books. Rebecca Romjin (?) is pretty hot in real life. She agrees to do the role wearing pretty much next to nothing but blue body paint. So you cover her with disgusting looking lizard scales. Obviously we're dealing with intellects far beyond my own because I just cannot conceive the logic in that.

That's all extraordinary !!

We are still waiting for Famke Janssen to reincarnate herself becoming bigger role after Dark Phoenix, she should rise with a new her character as White Phoenix the Crown stepping to go White Hot Room.. where her all completed powers becoming more powerful than she did before in X-3 as Dark Phoenix..

people also have been always wanting for Halle Berry, James Marsden, Rebecca Romijn, Alan Cumming, Kelly Hu, Anna Paquin, January Jones, Taylor Kitsch, Lucas Till, Vinnie Jones, Kevin Durand, Tyler Mane, Ray Park, Ben Foster, Kelsey Grammer, Ryan Reynolds, Shawn Ashmore, Aaron Stanford, Ellen Page, Daniel Cudmore... and need to see an older Emma Frost ( Charlize Theron ), an older Havok ( Ian Somerhalder ), new characters Scarlet Witch, Selene / The Black Queen, and Avalanche... most people request for main villains are Apocalypse, Mr Sinister, Holocaust, Exodus, even X-men Days of Future Past villains are Bastion, Nimrod, and Sentinel... they can work together with Apocalypse...

I'm glad they chose the costumes used in the movie. Do not like those concepts at all. Azazel should've fought with a katar also.

Too True.
I hope Fox hires someone to at least read the comics one day.

Azazel was interesting. I wish we had gotten to know more about him.

Do any of you actually read the notes? These were the EARLY stages of design, where they used inspiration from flight suits and astronaut suits and biker gear as the basis to get a starting point from the period. You start with something that actually exists, and then you tweak from there... that is how the process works. And, since they are trying to base it off of reality, this is how they start.

Think about it this way... if you got super powers, how would you start making your costume? You'd probably grab a flight suit or something similar (dirt-bike gear?) and then customize the colors and look to suit your needs.

The movie was brilliant how it was finally done, good thing they didn't choose these options
