More From Jennifer Lawrence On Being Transformed Into Mystique!

Feeding into male girl-on-girl fantasies, the X-Men: First Class star has described the strangely intimate experience of having the make-up applied as being like "a really bizarre sleepover"...

In a brief interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the young actress talked a little more about the complexities of being transformed into Mystique and came up with a pretty unique way of describing it! She also discusses how she managed to keep her body in shape for such a revealing role.

"Nothing’s sacred anymore, those girls and I got so close. They were painting me naked every day for months. It was kind of like going to a really bizarre sleepover. It’s what you guys imagine we do: One naked girl and seven pairs of hands all over her."

"It was awful, I was hungry for five months. I’m still pissed about it. I’m slowly working my way back because I have to be able to eat like an asshole."

X-Men: First Class is set to be released on June 3, later this year!

An adult version of the making of documentary on the dvd would be awesome ;P Mystique's sleep over "no panty" party LOL Hmmm... it sure would give a more positive meaning to the title "X-Men: Fist-Ass" ;)

But here's a thought... if Mystique was nearing her 40ies in the X-films... wouldn't she be, i dunno... non existant in this film??? Or 2 years old at the most? I don't know much about the specifics of her mutant condition, does her aging process slow down?

Lansdowne5- Oh... wasn't aware of that. But uh... why didn't they keep Rebecca Romijn as Mystique then? Not that i'm complaining, just curious really.

Dennis @ I think she is refering to the fact that she had to starve herself and get incredibly thin to look the part.

Thats how 'revealing' the 'costume' is.

Shaman, in comics Mystique is about as old as Wolverine.

Marvel72, Okay... we get it... you don't like this movie. Is it really necessary for you to click EVERY article involving X-Men on this site just to reiterate your disdain?

Blue people seem to be very "in" for Hollywood. Just look at Avatar. Then again, the Blue Man Group has been championing the blue people's cause for a long time now.

@marvel72 this is just a guess on my part, but I'm going to assume that they didn't just paint her blue and call it a day because she needed to be naked, and applying a few strategically placed scales would allow her to be "naked" without actually being naked, but that's just a guess...make sense?

Shaman, yes, he was born around 1835 according to most comic sources.

Marvel72, that's the thing... your not commenting on what you like, you are constantly reminding everyone that you don't like this movie. My question is, if you have such a problem with it and you feel it will be shit, why do you continually subject yourself to news updates regarding it as though you expect something will change your mind. I'm not saying you aren't entitled to your opinion, matter of fact I agree with you to an extent and I have real fears that this movie will not live up to the glory that is X-Men. My point is, if you don't like how it's shaping up, that's fine, but do you really need to come into every related article with the same attitude saying the same thing every time. At least attack the shit you don't like about it, otherwise you just sound like a broken record and as a result, people will be less inclined to read your comments. For instance, I hate the fact that they've changed Shaw's powerset to be more like characters like Mimic or Random. Trust me, all of us on this site hate that Fox is in control of the franchise and everything that comes along with that. You don't have to keep stating it over and over. From one X-fan to another, lets be a lil more constructive is all I ask.

Lawrence said that she hadn't seen the first three "X-Men" movies when she first auditioned for the role, and her unfamiliarity with the role of Mystique nearly cost her the part. She told me she auditioned a few times before finally sitting down to watch the original trilogy. Once she did, she said, "I realized I was doing it completely wrong, and I was like, 'Why have they been calling me back?'" Seeing the first three films, she saw that Rebecca Romijn played the role "kind of cold and cool and snakelike... I was doing my Raven kind of sweet and teenybopper, because I didn't know what else to do."
