Last Saturdays VS match up pitted two of Marvels most loved strong guys against one another. In one corner we had The Fantastic Four's famous brawler Ben Grimm (aka) The THING. In the other corner we found the shy, Russian country boy and long time X-Men strong man Piotr Rasputin (aka) Colossus.

With over 1,700 votes this match up proved to be very interesting. Now, without further adieu, I give you the results !

Who do you believe would be the winner in a battle between Colossus and The Thing?

Colossus - 899 Votes (51.05%)

The Thing - 663 Votes (37.65%)

They are too evenly matched, it would be a draw. - 199 Votes (11.30%)

To reiterate why these results do not indicate what the actual result of this fight should be:

The Thing consistently rolls with the Hulk, who is way tougher than Colossus. Hasn't the Hulk defeated Colossus several times? (Not sure). The Thing has also laid a beat down on the Silver Surfer.

The Thing as taken a full on pounding from a full powered Wrecker (he wasn't sharing the powers with his crew). being hit by the Wreckers bar is about three notches down from getting pounded with Thor's hammer. The Thing comes back for the win with one haymaker.

The Champion comes and challenges all of earths heroes. Colossus is beaten so badly in the first round they call the fight. Thing goes three rounds and won't give up. The Champion spares the earth. See below.

Now, this last example was probably back in the 70's, and I'm sure Colossus has done spectacular stuff since then but I don't know about it. Somebody should point it out.

Furthermore, does no one realize that the Thing just LOOKS like rock? He's not made of granite or sandstone or something. What he's made of is stuff that routinely takes punishment from the Hulk without much effect.

The bottom line is actions speak louder than the theoretical suppositions of Colossus fans. Thing has the track record.

the thing is so over rated,yeah he can go toe to toe with the hulk.

but when it comes down to it the hulk would smash the living f*ck out of the thing.

the juggernaut has battled the hulk during world war hulk pretty even if i remember rightly.

colossus can do the juggernaunt,so colossus can do the thing.

Honestly, I gotta say... the Marvel vs. DC polls are much more entertaining. They give more cause for argument and give more incentive to defend your hero.

Ok let's go back to the basics, shall we??

- Rock hits rocks = both can be shredded into pieces, depending on the force and weight vectors of each.

- Metal hits metal = results in bending if anything.

- Rock hits metal = tickles metal
- Metal hits rock = rocks in a million pieces.

The Thing Is much stronger and his Feats prove he is a better fighter and much stronger. Believe me I will flood this plac with scans of feats. That is my specialty! Colossus training is adapted and taught combat from his team mates. Thing is a Judo and Jujitsu practitioner a Wrestler, trained Boxer and very experienced Brawler from long before he was the Thing. Colossus would get owned. Metal D!ck riding Fanbois....lol No offense of course....

Colossus is one of my top 3 favorite x-men and while i read a ton of comics i dont reguraly read FF, but they are evenly matched physicaly so it comes down to sheer will and things got it.

"MassExecutions" is on target. Colossus is powerful and an overall cool character but Thing is a more battle-experienced veteran superhero with "Rocky (No pun intended!) Balboa" heart. Let's not forget the comic book fact that Ben's strength continues to increase the longer he remains The Thing. This has been documented in several F.F. issues and is confirmed by simply comparing Thing's strength levels during the "Jack Kirby" era to now. In the good ol' days his strength level was 5000 lbs. Presently, he's at or above the 100 ton range. So...IMHO Thing wins a hard fought bout against Colossus.

I agree with the outcome of the last match. Strength-wise there is little difference between the two and Colossus is the better trained fighter. It'd be close but Colossus takes it. As for the next match-up... not even fair. Silver Surfer has got far too much for Superman. I think speed-wise Surfer has this, strength-wise, Surfer takes it and pure power-wise... you can guess where this is going. Surfer owns. Quite easily.
