Rumor: Mark Ruffalo Filmed Scenes For An Upcoming MCU Movie Last Weekend - Possibly The X-Men Reboot!?

According to a new rumor, Mark Ruffalo shot scenes for an upcoming MCU project last weekend. One would assume this was for either Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars...

Avengers: Doomsday reshoots are currently underway (it seems the recent report that Avengers: Secret Wars had commenced filming was premature), and several internet scoopers believe that Marvel Studios is using this round of additional photography to add a few cameos.

Jeremy Renner has hinted that he's back in the Hawkeye suit, and Elizabeth Olsen's stunt-double has confirmed that she's currently working on something on her Instagram page. Now, it looks like we can add Mark Ruffalo to the mix... or can we?

During this week's episode of The Hot Mic, Jeff Sneider said he'd heard that Ruffalo took a break from filming the second season of HBO's Task last weekend to shoot something for a Marvel Studios project, and his source told him it was the X-Men reboot.

We assume they got it wrong and Ruffalo filmed something for either Doomsday or Secret Wars, but if the actor was going to be too busy closer to the time, it is possible that he shot a scene for X-Men even though (as far as we know) the movie hasn't entered production.

As for why Bruce Banner/Hulk would be mixing it up with the mutants, it could have something to do with his work on the inhibitor chip that was introduced in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Banner designed the inhibitor to prevent him from "Hulking out," but Peter Parker modified it to suppress his own transformation, and there's speculation that technology will ultimately be used to create the mutant inhibitor collars or something similar.

This is all just speculation, of course, but whatever project Ruffalo filmed for, there's a very good chance we'll be seeing the Green Goliath again fairly soon.

Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars were hit with significant delays last year, with Doomsday now set to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2026, and Secret Wars positioned for December 17, 2027.

Both movies will be directed by the Russo brothers, who also make their MCU return after helming Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame

"Universes collide and the Multiverse Saga begins its final chapter in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday. Beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and ultimately face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered. This epic film will lay the foundation for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe."

Doomsday will star:

Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, Florence Pugh as Yelena, Danny Ramirez as Falcon, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Sebastian Stan as Bucky, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, James Marsden as Cyclops, Channing Tatum as Gambit, and Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent

Along with Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, Tenoch Huerta Mejia as Namor, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, and, of course, Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.

I can't believe Sneider is still viewed as a reputable source when he's gotten so many things wrong and the only reason he's ever right is a machine gun approach. Fire off 1,000 educated guesses and 1 has to be true.

@Hobmoblin - you have to take his scoops with a pinch of salt… but you can never count him out. He definitely has access to decent sources unlike a lot of scoopers reported on here *cough* Alex Perez/Cosmic Circus *cough*.

Sneider might be an at times unstable nut job but he was saying Sadie Sink was Jean Grey about a year ago before anyone else. Sure he then changed his mind a few times after that, speculating she could be the real Mary Jane or Mayday, but honestly I think that was mostly borne out of people on sites like this telling him how ridiculous it would be for Jean Grey to be in a Sony Spider Man movie. And look where we are now! He also casually dropped Downey being Doom a few weeks before that broke so he definitely has connections. Sure he didn’t have a clue about any of the recent X-Men castings and embarrassed himself but I would say that could be Marvel themselves becoming more sophisticated in terms of how they throw off insiders/leakers.
