Patrick Stewart Confirms That 'Professor X' Will Be In The New WOLVERINE Movie

And from the sounds of things, it won't be just a cameo appearance either! While talking to Collider about his new movie, Patrick Stewart flat-out confirmed that Charles Xavier will factor into the final Wolverine flick, and he discusses that Old Man Logan rumor too...

Sir Patrick Stewart has never been shy about sharing a bit of info about his upcoming X-projects, and while talking to Collider about his latest movie, Blunt Talk, he kept up that wonderful tradition.

During the interview Stewart is asked about the rumors that Xavier will be making an appearance in the final Wolverine movie with Hugh Jackman and if he can tease fans with anything. Stewart teases and then some, outright confirming that his character will be making "more than an appearance". As far as the plot being based on Mark Millar's Old Man Logan goes, that still hasn't been officially confirmed - but Sir Patrick does say he's looking forward to seeing Jackman age, so read into that what you will.

"I think what you say is true. There is a project in development. I understand that Professor Xavier will be making more than an appearance, however, and that intrigues me. And the idea of an old Wolverine – I’m really looking forward to Hugh Jackman getting old. You know, damn him. He looks so great! So I’m hoping to see him covered in prosthetics, you know? And then he’ll make me look better if that’s the case.”

What role do you think Xavier could play in this story? We know Fox can't use Hawkeye, so perhaps Logan will have a slightly more familiar travelling companion?

I was officially done with Wolverine after months of hyping up to see The Wolverine and having my hopes ripped to shreds about 20 minutes into the movie, and then boredom and soul-crushing fan moments ensued. Also, they already did Old man logan in The wolverine if that is what they're referring to here. Wolverine stays secluded from everyone for years over killing someone he shouldn't have, then being forced to embark on a journey. They used some definite queues, so what is the point of repeating him not doing anything, being away from everyone, not killing over guilt, then being forced into an adventure......AGAIN! And ANOTHER thing! Why force Professor X and Wolvie together for the millionth time. Are you really not that confident in Wolverine to the point where you think inserting Patrick Stewart somehow brings in the audience, because you know, MONEY!!! All the reason Fantfourstic failed. You better friggin pray this movie is awesome, Fox.

Questions:

1.) Professor X is STILL living when Wolverine goes all "Old Man Logan"???

2.) Did he just confirm Old Man Logan???

3.) Could he be playing the role that Hawkeye played in the story arc?

Why's everyone saying Professor X and Wolverine are always together? He was only a cameo in "The Wolverine". lol Wolverine was rolling with Yukio that entire movie.

However I can say that it would be cool seeing Deadpool play the role that Hawkeye played on the story arc. It would add humor to the tension/seriousness of the overall flick.

@Gliderman
I would never discourage you from liking it as I DO have the unleashed edition for The Wolverine, but the movie was easily one of the most disappointing superhero movies made, it wasn't nearly as good as it could've been, actually could have been one of the best superhero movies out there.

Did we ever figure out how Xavier came back after The Last Stand? I don't remember that ever being cleared up.

Ugh fox. They don't get it so hard. The marquee character has never donned his costume in 17 years. That reveals everything about their relationships with the characters: They don't trust them, or get what gives them identities that people recognize, let alone relate-to/hate/love/etc. They've missed opportunity after opportunity because they don't see them as opportunities.

@DrDoom I respect that man. But Old Man Logan is HIGLEY regarded. So you have to understand why they would adapt that story. But I respect you're opinion :)
