People are just freaking out like this because they didn't like the last two X-Men movies. Spider-Man messed up its continuity. Mentioning both Eddie Brock and Dr. Connors in the first Spider-Man as different characters then they turned out to be in the later two.

At the end of First Class, X is in a wheelchair, but not bald. He is young and has already fallen out with Erik. But at the beginning of X-Men 3, he is older, bald, NOT in a wheelchair and still friends with an older Erik, as they meet Jean Grey as a young girl.
Also, in the first X-Men, Xavier says that Magneto helped him build Cerebro. In First Class this is so not the case.

of course FC is not a reboot. actors from the previous films were used in FC so it stays IN continuity (?) with the other 4 films. maybe emma was using her telepathic abilities to make herself look younger in XMOW...

I really wouldn't mind all this if they would just be honest and call First Class a reboot instead of a sequel.

Ok I loved First class it was a great movie but the continuity errors killed that movie for me. FOX does not care about this issue obviously. What needs to happen is have Marvel Studios give a shot at x-men and finally do it right. Sadly the rights of the franchise won't be reverting back to marvel anytime soon but I just hope.

How come Prof. X was able to get a trace/lock on Azazel many times but in X2 he couldn't get a hold of Nightcrawler??? *FOX's continuity. It's a puzzle in itself.*
