Thanks to StarkIndustries.Ru, we have the official cover art for the tie-in book 300: Rise Of An Empire - The Art Of The Film, which was written by Peter Aperlo. The book, which features concept art from Warner Bros.' sequel to 2007's Frank Miller adaptation 300, also showcases a foreword by director Noam Murro and afterword by producer Zack Snyder. The book's official description reads as follows. "Based on Frank Miller's latest graphic novel Xerxes, 300: Rise of an Empire is produced by Gianni Nunnari, Mark Canton, Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder and Bernie Goldmann, and directed by Noam Murro from a screenplay by Zack Snyder & Kurt Johnstad. Told in the breathtaking visual style of 300 this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield--on the sea--as Greek general Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war. 300: Rise of an Empire pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), and Artemisia (Eva Green), vengeful commander of the Persian navy." In other 300: Rise Of An Empire news, composer Junkie XL/Tom Holkenborg (who most recently collaborated with Hans Zimmer on The Dark Knight Rises and Man Of Steel) has been tapped to score the follow-up, according to Film Music Reporter. XL is also known for scoring Famke Janssen’s directorial debut Bringing Up Bobby. Federico Jusid was hired to score 300: Rise Of An Empire earlier this year, but backed out.
300: Rise Of An Empire stars Rodrigo Santoro, Eva Green and Sullivan Stapleton. The film is set to hit theaters August 2nd.
