A long time ago during in an era known as the 80's, David Hasselhoff starred in a television show in which he drove a car voiced by Mr. Feeny with the technological advancements of today's smartphones. According to Bleeding Cool, KNIGHT RIDER may be returning, this time to the big screen with comedy writer, Brad Copeland penning the story.
Some of you may recall a similar attempt to make KNIGHT RIDER relevant again occurred in 2008 in which KITT, originally a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am was remodeled as a Ford Shelby GT500KR Mustang with transformation capabilities, but the series failed to capture an audience and was cancelled after one season.
It appears that like many cult classics from years past, like the infamous BRADY BUNCH movies or more recently LAND OF THE LOST and DARK SHADOWS, KNIGHT RIDER may be more comic in tone than the original series. Whether this will resonate with today's audience remains to be seen. Perhaps they can have Ron Howard be the new voice and A.I. for KITT.
