Before David Leitch brings us Deadpool 2, he'll be veering much closer to John Wick territory with his new action thriller, Atomic Blonde.

The film is an adaptation of Antony Johnston and Sam Hart’s espionage graphic novel, The Coldest City, and stars Charlize Theron as a lethal spy, alongside the likes of John Goodman and James McAvoy.

The first trailer is a red band one, and features plenty of bloody violence, as well as a steamy sex scene with Star Trek Beyond actress Sofia Boutella. Probably not your cup of tea, then.

Atomic Blonde will receive its world premiere at next week’s SXSW 2017 film festival, so we'll be sure to let you guys know how it goes down. Hey, mind out of the gutters!

lol that first cover song sucked. the choreography looks like a fan film. half the time she is just getting her ass kicked.

mentioning john wick in the presence of this is insulting.

I'm surprised there's no comments about the Charlize on Sophia action, lol.

Anyway, I love the cast and well, Charlize is my homegirl but this trailer, I don't know...it was weird...the movie looks like it could be good, heck you can give me a movie about poop directed by David Leitch and I'd be excited for it but the trailer itself didn't do it for me... not as a whole.

How did "John Wick" become a cultural short-hand?

Also, how does Keanu Reeves keep getting roles that become broader cultural touchstones?

Also... what even is this and why am I here?

Also... also... also... Charlize Theron's recent career is everything I wanted Angelina Jolie's career to be. So close...
