CONDORMAN to Take Flight Once Again?

CONDORMAN to Take Flight Once Again?

Moviehole, citing an inside source at Disney, claims that the studio plans on remaking failed 1981 superhero film CONDORMAN. One can't help but wonder why, having acquired MARVEL and 90% of their superheroes, Disney would bother giving CONDORMAN the time of day.

CONDORMAN starred a pre-PHANTOM OF THE OPERA Michael Crawford as Wally, a pompous British cartoonist who transforms into a superhero to face-off with the KGB.

Moviehole's source claims Disney is considering Robert Pattinson for the Wally / Condorman role, but expressed some doubt that the TWILIGHT star would take the part, as "he seems to be into more intellectual things."

Apparently some of the credit / blame for the sudden interest in the property belongs to MARVEL's Stephen Wackler, editor on THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, who the insider says is one of the big supporters behind the proposal.

”He, and quite a few others, believe that with Disney now doing Marvel’s movies, they should consider making the character part of the Marvel Universe."

NostalgicYouth - Pattison appears, from what little I know of his career, to be trying to be one of those actors that switches back and forth between popular mainstream movie roles and riskier roles in less "Hollywood" style movies. His role in David Cronenberg's COSMOPOLIS, for example. I haven't seen COSMOPOLIS, but Cronenberg films are usually pretty dense, so I imagine it is that, and not TWILIGHT, that the source (assuming they even exist) was referring to. Don't get me wrong, it's still not accurate - its safe to say more people know of Pattison from Potter and TWILIGHT than COSMOPOLIS.

WITW? Ok what ever. If they make it good it doesn't really matter if no one has ever heard of it. Heh, people say that Ant-Man and Black Panther are B characters. LOL.
