It took a while, but it looks like Deadpool has finally made his Disney debut, with Ryan Reynolds reprising the fan-favorite role for a funny promotional video for his upcoming action comedy Free Guy. The actor appears opposite co-star Taika Waititi's as Korg, and presses him for tips on how to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The video is a trailer reaction for their own movie, with the Merc with a Mouth picking up right where he left off as he takes shots at himself, the new MCU TV shows on Disney+, Deadpool 2, Thor: Ragnarok, and, of course, the big move to Disney.
Deadpool 3 has already been confirmed to be in the works, with Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin and Wendy Molyneux (Bob's Burgers) working on the script under Reynolds' supervision. Filming isn't expected to begin this year due to Reynolds' schedule, but it seems more probable than not that cameras could roll at some point next year.
Free Guy, which opens exclusively in theaters on August 13, centers around Guy (Ryan Reynolds), a non-playable background character working as a bank teller in a popular open world video game, who, thanks to a code developed by rogue programmers Milly (Jodie Comer) and Keys (Joe Keery), becomes self-aware and takes it upon himself to level-up as the hero of the story and save his world from being shut down forever.
