Kevin Tancharoen who is directing the upcoming 'Mortal Kombat' web-series has used his Twitter account once again to give us another image, this time revealing Matt Mullins as Johnny Cage.

Kevin is currently in Vancouver filming his Warner Bros. produced web-series and Jeri Ryan will reprise her role as Sonya Blade, and Michael Jai White will also return to the character of Jackson 'Jax' Briggs along with Darren Shahlavi as Kano, and Ian Anthony Dale is returning as Scorpion.

"Written by Kevin Tancharoen, Aaron Helbing and Todd Helbing, and available online this spring from Warner Bros. Digital Distribution, the “Mortal Kombat” digital new media series is an anthology of multiple live action shorts. Each episode will provide never-before-revealed insights into characters featured in the upcoming videogame as well as the game’s universe…Fans will be able to delve deep into the history of the warriors they know and love including “Sub-Zero” and “Scorpion."

"Dont Rattle The Cage!"

I think Matt was a pretty decent choice for Johnny, as long as they don't kill him off this time. Frankly I think the whole web-series is shaping up to be really good and I cant wait until the first episode premieres.

@MoumentheBatman

dude its been noted many time this has nothing to do with Rebirth trailer. this webseries story is going to be close to the actually Mortal Kombat video game universe. Rebirth was just to show his directing style thats all.

Actuality.... I liked the Mortal Kombat Rebirth trailer. I liked how it was more realistic. I didn't like baraka. I say make him NOT an alien, but do something else with him. I really want to see THAT movie.

Guys. Please. Come on. Don't feed the trolls. Give it time, it'll starve and withdraw to the recesses of it's mother's basement. Try harder in 2 more years when you're fifteen, bro.

I could give a shit if this ends up sucking. The Rebirth trailer, which I now know (go ahead and scoff fan-boys), has nothing to do with this web-series, kicked all forms of ass. If this is half as good, we'll get a decent movie. God, doesn't Warner won HBO? Would be sick.

@ deathadder

dude, I don't know how you can possibly know what direction the director is taking this. Its been said numerous times that the Rebirth trailer from a few months back has absolutely nothing to do with this web series...nothing.

All we've seen are some still pictures, which has the characters in their costumes and looking the way they should, Baraka included. Mileena and Kitana have also been shown, again, in their costumes.

I don't know where you're getting the idea that this will be realistic. follow the news on it and you'll see that every indication points in the complete opposite direction of it being realistic...
