Much more Christmas-focused than Die Hard, Tommy Wirkola's action film Violent Night is currently available on Digital and Peacock. Violent Night 2 has now been formally confirmed by The Wrap. With a distinctive spin on the Jolly Man in Red, it made significant progress, earning more than three times its $25 million budget by the time it premiered in theaters in November 2022. The second Christmas hit won't be overlooked like the first. Tommy Wirkola notes that Josh Miller and Pat Casey will return to write the music for Violent Night 2, therefore this Cookie Cruncher will feature the original creative team.
They would wait to start shooting while they put the script together, according to Wirkola. The group will be efficient with their time.
"We're talking about it and we're just making deals and getting everything in order," according to Wirkola. "We have time to really crack the script and figure out the story."
In essence, Die Hard, Home Alone, Christmas Vacation, and Bad Santa are all combined in a bloody manner for Violent Night. In the movie, David Harbour's Santa Claus has a unique origin that he uses to save a kidnapped family from the evil guy, played by John Leguizamo.
A squad of professional mercenaries breaks into a wealthy family's mansion on Christmas Eve and imprisons everyone within. When Santa Claus (Harbour) unexpectedly shows up at the location to show why this Nick is not a saint, the staff is unprepared. This impolitely defeated Santa undoubtedly has punch. Wirkola claims that they plan to do more in the second while also giving Old Saint Nick a unique touch by delving into his backstory.
"There's stuff we left on the floor like the North Pole, Mrs. Claus, the elves. But storywise I think we have a really, really cool idea that expands on the world and scope but still keeping that tone we love from the first one."
Harbour will have a very hectic schedule in the near future due to the commencement of filming for Thunderbolts and Stranger Things season 5!
