After debuting the first look during CinemaCon earlier this year, Universal Pictures has now released the official theatrical poster for Baltasar Kormákur's upcoming survival thriller Beast, which stars 5x Primetime Emmy-nominee Idris Elba (Thor: Ragnarok; Avengers: Infinity War) in the lead role as a man who must overcome the African savanna to protect his family from arguably one of the most gruesome fates of them all.
The plot follows Dr. Nate Samuels (Idris Elba), who after the loss of his wife, brings his two teenage daughters Meredith (Iyana Halley) and Norah (Leah Sava Jeffries) to South Africa, which is very special to him as that's where he first met their mother. He takes them to visit a big game reserve, managed by his old friend Martin Battles (Sharlto Copley), and plans a relatively quiet outing for the girls.
However, everything gets turned on its head when a massive bloodthirsty lion, having recently escaped some evil poachers, seeks his revenge on the unsuspecting family.
Beast hits theaters on August 19.

Sometimes the rustle in the bushes actually is a monster.
Idris Elba (Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, The Suicide Squad) stars in a pulse-pounding new thriller about a father and his two teenage daughters who find themselves hunted by a massive rogue lion intent on proving that the savannah has but one apex predator.
Elba plays Dr. Nate Daniels, a recently widowed husband who returns to South Africa, where he first met his wife, on a long-planned trip with their daughters to a game reserve managed by Martin Battles (Sharlto Copley, Russian Doll series, Maleficent), an old family friend and wildlife biologist. But what begins as a journey of healing jolts into a fearsome fight for survival when a lion, a survivor of blood-thirsty poachers who now sees all humans as the enemy, begins stalking them.
